Official Mixtape Awards 2011 Nomination Report

Hey did you Catch Yogzilla's post from the OMA nomination event Last wekk Thursday 27th Jan 2011 @Traffic , London!!

A.B.M.P were in the building from early so i could plug in my Serato !!!! yeah i'm one of those dj's and we mix live no pc beat match, mapping, straight live in the mix!!!

I digress!!

After setting up my dj equipment testing as standard and the back drops were going up faces started to roll in by 9pm place was busy !!!

Indie Artist , Media reps, Bloggers, Music grinders, Dj's and followed by Miss Kele le Roc and Ras Kwame ready to set the night off.

I warmed up with a nice selction of UK Mixtape music from shows from the Official mixtape awards radio (every Wednesday night 19:00 GMT www.bangradio.fm 103.6FM London) and played some of the man dem's music from the ends, you have to test the waters, watch the heads nod!!!

Mics tested backing tracks sorted and boom.....Kele & Ras went in with very mixed reaction from the crowd!!! but all round support regardless!

On the night we had the pleasure of performances from Kozzie, Nolay and Mystro (check out Yogzilla in the freeze frame of Nolay video A.B.M.P!!!) . see vidz and Kele and Ras's annoucements of the nominations and link to vote below....

Torstein Horgmo on Friday night became the first snowboarder in X Games history to nail a triple cork. The trick, which you can watch below, was landed successfully on his final run of the big-air competition and clinched a gold medal for the Norwegian. Some at the event, held in Aspen, Colo., were ranking it among the top X Games tricks ever performed.


Making it more impressive was that Horgmo stuck the landing with broken ribs suffered during an earlier crash. "It's probably the stupidest thing I've done in my whole life," he told ESPN afterward. "It didn't feel right doing it. I don't think the jump was right for that trick"

Also impressive, except perhaps for the fan on the receiving end, was the long-distance punting of his helmet into the crowd at the bottom of the ramp.

Comic Book Artist and GI Joe Character Designer Clement Sauve Passes Away

Comic book artist Clement Sauvé passed away yesterday at 33 after a battle with cancer. I worked with him on one of his first comic books, "Human Defense Corps" for DC. It is also the first comic I edited myself, and we were both pretty nervous about doing a good job. Clement gave 150% on every page, and always wanted to learn more and see how he could improve. We were on the phone a lot. It's funny, I've forgotten the voices of many of the freelancers I used to work with way back when -- but right now I can clearly remember the way he said my name.

"Human Defense Corps" was not a great success but i like and love any comic so it was enough for me.. In a sense the comic mimics what we are watching in Films nowadays with Army Squadrons trying to rid earth of the Terrestrial Visitors so it was more than up to the time!

I think its a damn shame so young, Yogzilla salutes you may you RIP.
